Are you called to lead a warm and friendly congregation with the charge of a beautiful historical church in a vibrant city? This post also offers a full stipend, financial support for training and retreats, and a four-bedroom townhouse.
We would be delighted to welcome a gifted priest to be the Rector of St Mary’s Carden Place Aberdeen, who will embrace our Anglican worship and open table policy and have the leadership qualities to lead our growth as a church.
St Mary’s is a warm, welcoming, diverse and caring family with an active and committed congregation situated in the west end of Aberdeen City. The Rectory is within walking distance of St Mary’s and the city and local countryside offer a very high quality of living.

We are seeking someone who

  • Will be an individual with integrity, content in themselves, who is empathetic and happy to embrace being integral to a diverse, caring Church family
  •  Is happy to lead our traditional style of worship and understands the importance of the musical and choral traditions, whilst being interested in the development of new approaches to worship and our outreach to the local community
  • Will work collegiately with our Assistant Priest and lay and ordained, male and female colleagues in all areas of church life and seek consensual decision-making with the Vestry and congregation
  • Has a willingness to be an active part of the social life of the church, an appreciation of fun and a good sense of humour
