St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral is a member church of the Diocese of Aberdeen and Orkney
St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral is a member church of the Diocese of Aberdeen and Orkney, which is one of the seven dioceses of the Scottish Episcopal Church. The Scottish Episcopal Church is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion (founded in 1867 in London, England, the communion currently has over 85 million members within the Church of England and other national and regional churches in full communion), and a member of the Porvoo Communion (a communion of 15 predominantly northern European, with a couple of far-southwestern European Anglican and Evangelical Lutheran church bodies).
St. Mary’s has sister churches in Diss, Norfolk, and in our sister diocese of Mthatha (St. Mary’s Mqanduli) in South Africa. The diocese is also strongly linked with the Diocese of Connecticut in the U.S.A.

Diocese Weekly Newsletter
The Diocesan Office produces a weekly newsletter, which is distributed electronically throughout the Diocese of Aberdeen and Orkney. This is a useful document providing an update from the Bishop plus information regarding important event dates.

The Scottish Episcopal Church is the Ecclesiastical Province of the Anglican Communion in Scotland and the Diocese of Aberdeen and Orkney is one of seven Dioceses within that province.
