Walk with St. John’s

09/04/2022 by Nicola Mills

Hello,

I hope the Lenten season is going well for you. Following two recent successful walks I am pleased to provide details of our next adventure:

LOCATION: Hill of Dunnideer, Insch (GR612 281)

DATE: Monday 18th April (Easter Monday)

MEETING TIME: 10.45 at Insch Railway Station (GR630 276). A train leaves Aberdeen Station at 10.10.  Otherwise allow an hour to drive from Central Aberdeen. Use A96 to Oyne for and turn left onto B9002.

ROUTE: Pavements for 3km and hill track for 0.5km and return by same route (Total 7km / 4.5 miles plus 100m of ascent).

TIME: 3 hours plus refreshments / toilet facilities in the Community Centre

EQUIPMENT REQUIRED: Strong shoes or boots, waterproofs, hat and gloves as directed by weather forecast. A snack for the summit meal.  A hard boiled egg painted if you wish for rolling!

COVID-19 MANAGEMENT: Legal restrictions are eased on the 18th of April but you may still wish to wear a face covering for indoors and /or take a lateral flow test. Please don’t share food and cups.

TIME HOME: We should be finished around 2.00pm. A train leaves Insch at 14.20

FUTURE DATES: Saturday 14th May: The Pitfour Estate, Mintlaw

I hope you will manage to join me on what should be a nice way to continue Easter celebrations.

Do let me know if you are coming and if you have any questions.  I will make a final decision Sunday evening by 8.00pm.

Best wishes,

Tom 07960263920
