Palm Sunday
St Mary’s and St Andrew’s Worshipping Together
A very warm welcome to all
Readings:
Isaiah 50: 4-9a; Psalm 31: 9-16; Philippians 2: 5-11; Gospel: Mark 14: 1-end of Ch 15
Today’s Liturgy
Today’s liturgy places Jesus’ passion front and centre. It’s hard to listen to, the betrayal, the pain, the death. The hosannas of the triumphal entry, now seem but an echo in our memory but that’s where I want us to go. I want us to go back to that first gospel reading, Mark 11:1-11, to Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem, and I want us to think about this question. Why did Jesus leave the temple and go to Bethany?
Photograph Competition
St Mary’s Pro-Cathedral, Carden Place, Aberdeen, is holding a Photograph competition as part of our on-going fund-raising initiatives. The competition will run between Easter Sunday the 4th of April until Trinity Sunday the 30th of May inclusive. We are asking that anyone who wants to enter should submit their photograph(s) to Mr David Rose via the St Mary’s email address at stmaryscardenplace@gmail.com More details regarding the competition will be published soon on our website at www.stmaryscardenplace.org.uk
Thank you for the Easter egg donations
Thank you so much to everyone who donated Easter Eggs to our annual appeal. These will soon be passed on to the Barnardo’s Organisation here in Aberdeen and further circulated among those who might not otherwise receive this little Easter treat.

The Quarterly Magazine returns after a Covid Hiatus and the Easter edition can now be accessed via the website under the ‘news’ dropdown tab. My thank to all contributors and to Dr Nicola Mills for editing and producing said document.

As mentioned last week, we now revert to booking seats again for our church services. Please make sure you do so by contacting me via the usual routes in order that I can ensure you have a space. Until the situation relaxes further, this arrangement will need to continue.
